About Us

Arulmigu Kapaleeswarar Arts and Science College fondly called AKASC is located in Kolathur, a prime city of North Chennai. It caters to the educational needs of the underprivileged students. It provides quality education to the students from the economically backward community. AKASC has harboured an excellent faculty resource in the city to diffuse dynamism and knowledge to the numerous learners for years to come adhering to our motto

 The inception of our college was marked by the Government Order (G.O.) passed on October 4, 2021, in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. Arulmigu Kapaleeswarar Arts and Science College (AKASC) is the first of its kind, established on November 2, 2021, by the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. M. K. Stalin. AKASC was founded by the trust of the famous Arulmigu Kapaleeswarar Temple situated in Mylapore, Chennai presided by Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Department of Tamil Nadu Government. Arulmigu Kapaleeswarar temple trust takes immense pride for entering the field of education with the sole intention of providing educational opportunity to the students from the downtrodden society and to appease their search for world- class education.
Principal and Administrative room, Professor rooms, Class rooms, Computer laboratories, Library and Toilet facilities are available in this college. This college is temporarily started at the campus of a private school viz., Everwin Vidhyashram, which is situated on Red Hills road in Kolathur neighbourhood. This will be shifted permanently to the nearby proposed buildings at the campus of 5.95 acre land. 
This college offers undergraduate courses as follows: B.Com(General)., B.B.A., B.C.A., B.Sc. (Computer Science) and B.A Saiva Siddhanta  on the idea to offer courses on religious subjects, a 6-month certificate course on  Saiva Siddhanta, Epigraphy is to be included in this college, said by the Tamil Nadu State Minister of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
The colleges maintain close contact with their alumni, many of whom are well placed both in India. Efforts are made to involve them in supporting outgoing students for their academic and career advancement.
